Kyra M. Sedgwick (born Kyra Minturn) is a popular American actress and television personality. She is well-known all over the globe, but is most famously in America for her role as the lead in the TV The Closer's series. Sedgwick was inclined towards art, acting and Broadway from the age of 12 years old. Sedgwick was introduced to Broadway by her mom who was an avid Broadway lover. When she was of 16, Sedgwick received her first acting job professionally on the show "Another World". Her desire was to make a name for herself as an actor and not only small-screen part that attracted Sedgwick initially. In the beginning, her role as a support in the Tom Cruise-starring movie Born on the Fourth of July turned her into a star on the large screen. Sedgwick's success in this movie led to her getting roles in other films, such as 'Heart and Souls, 'Phenomenon,' etc. Her husband, actor Kevin Bacon met her in the television film "Lemon Sky.. He and she got married at 22. Sedgwick made a mark on the American television with her effortless performance in the show "The Closer," a series that ran for seven seasons and won her many the prestigious prizes like Golden Globe and Emmy.
