In all her years, Sara Evans only held only one goal: perform and write country music. Evans spoke to John Meroney, of American Enterprise: "God placed me there to sing." "It is what I enjoy doing more than anything else, and I am going to be successful." Furthermore, Evans wanted to succeed by going back to traditional country music that was brought to life by legendary stars such as Patsy Cline, Hank Snow, Tammy Wynette, George Jones, and Patty Loveless, musicians Evans considered her greatest sources of inspiration. Through the 1990s, an era when most aspiring country singers turned to modern songs that were radio-friendly, Evans established herself through her performances of country tunes with a nostalgic look, exemplified by her debut album from 1997, True Lies. True Lies, though it got a positive review and received nominations from the Academy of Country Music for 1998's best new female singer it failed to have an impression. Evans was enticed to change her repertoire of songs for No Place That Far in 1999 by the producers. The result was the recognition that she'd been longing for. Sara Evans was born February 5, 1971, in Columbia, Missouri. Sara Evans was raised with her six siblings.
